Reining Strength Therapeutic Horsemanship provides equine-assisted activities and therapies to children and adults with special needs. The program is in need of sidewalkers and leaders to assist in therapeutic riding lessons.
SIDEWALKERS
Sidewalkers will be walking along side riders & support the rider in performing the requested activities of the PATH, Intl. Instructors. To be considered for sidewalking, the individual must be physically capable of walking alongside the horse for at least an hour.
LEADERS
Leaders will lead the horses during the therapeutic riding lesson. Leaders must demonstrate an ability to control the horse in various situations. Additional in-depth training is necessary to lead a horse during lessons. To be considered as a leader, the volunteer must be physically capable of leading and managing the horse for at least an hour.
Want to volunteer?: All volunteers are required to attend a volunteer orientation. It will last approximately two hours and will be held at: 8811 FM 359 Rd., Richmond, TX 77406. Interested persons must complete a volunteer packet located on our website( www.reiningstrength.org ) under the “Get Involved” tab.

The next orientation is Saturday, Feb 4th at 1pm. There are no set days and times for volunteering. They will try to schedule according to the volunteer’s schedule or convenience.
