BARC is the City of Houston’s Animal Shelter and Adoption facility, and the organization works to promote and protect public health and animals through sheltering, pet placement programs, pet ownership education, and animal law enforcement.
Volunteer opportunities include check-in aide, adoptions hosts, adoption counselor (off-site), book buddies, cat castle assistant, dog walking, dog feeding and watering, poop fairy, puppy nursery assistant, surgical vet assistant, photography team, community block walking, Healthy Street Healthy Pets, off-site team member, and foster parents.
